Data sorting is a very important feature of data analysis. /b10> Tableau allows you to sort the data for a field called a dimension. /b11> Tableau sorts in two ways.
This type of sort involves selecting the fields to sort and applying the sort directly using the sort dialog box. /b10> We can choose the sort order as ascending or descending order, and select the fields where the sorting is applied.
Let's select TheAmple-Superstore and use the dimension order date and subcategories to apply sorting to a field called discount, as shown below. /b10> The results show the names of subcategories in descending order of each year.

If there is a commonly agreed sorting combination of the order of a dimension field, but the desired effect is not achieved by letter, aggregation, etc., then you can manually specify the sort order of the fields.
Let's select The Ample-Superstore, the Region field in the data source is four regions in China, sorted by East, South, West, and North, and sorted by Manual.
