WordPress writing settings

Write settings control the write experience and provide the option to customize wordPress websites. /b10> These settings control the addition and editing of features in posts, pages and post types, as well as optional features such as remote publishing, posting via email, and updating services.

Here are the steps to access the write settings:

Step (1) - To change the write settings, go to the Settings → Writing option.

Step (2) - Displays the write settings page, as shown on the screen below.

The following is the details of the fields on the page.

  • Formatting - This field defines two sub-options for a better user experience.

    • The first option converts emojis such as:-) and:-P to display pictures converts text-based emojis to graphic-based emojis.

    • The second option, WordPress, should automatically correct invalid nested XHTML fixes that are placed in posts or pages.

  • Default Post Category - This is the category to apply to a post that you can keep as unclassified.

  • Default Post Format - Themes are used to select the post format to apply to a post, or to create different styles for different types of posts.

  • Post via e-mail - This option uses an email address to create a post and post it on your blog via email. /b10> To use this feature, you need to set up a secret email account with POP3 access and publish any messages you receive at this address.

  • Mail Server - It allows you to read emails you send to WordPress and store them for retrieval. /b10> To do this, you need a POP3-compatible mail server, and it will have a URI address, mail.example.com, which you should enter here.

  • Login Name - To create a post, WordPress will need its own email account. /b10> The sign-in name uses this email address because spammers re-direct the link to their own website and should keep it confidential.

  • Password ( the password for the email address above.

  • Default Mail Category (Default Mail Category) - It allows you to select custom categories for all posts posted via the email feature.

  • Update Services - When you post a new post, WordPress automatically notifies the site in the box of the update service. /b10> For a detailed list of possible services, see Update Services on your code.

Step (3) - Once you have completed all of the above information, click the Save Changes button to save your information.
