Does chrome support silverlight?

Asked by Mara Pham on Dec 11, 2021 Chrome A guide to developing tools

By default, Silverlight is no longer supported by Chrome. The Netscape Plugin Application Programming Interface (yes Netscape, it's that old!) NPAPI is no longer supported by Google Chrome. However, it is still possible to use Silverlight in the Google Chrome web browser.
Besides,
To allow Chrome to run Silverlight for all sites, follow these three steps: Enter the following URL in your address bar: chrome://plugins/ Scroll down to the Silverlight section. Click the ´Enable´ link and select the ´Always allowed to run´ check-box: The background of the Silverlight section should turn from grey to white.
Indeed, However, it is still possible to use Silverlight in the Google Chrome web browser. You will need to install a browser extension for this. The IE Tab browser extension allows you to use Silverlight in Chrome, and not only Silverlight but also Java, Active X, and the SharePoint plug-in.
Accordingly,
Google Chrome does not natively support ActiveX, but it is possible to add ActiveX Chrome support through the use of a browser extension. To do so, open Chrome, and go to More Tools > Extensions. This opens the Chrome Web Store.
In respect to this,
While early versions of Silverlight focused on streaming media, later versions supported multimedia, graphics, and animation and game developers support for CLI languages and development tools.
