Which is better scrivener or atticus book formatting tool?

Asked by Karla Chandler on Dec 03, 2021 FAQ

Dave currently says his new tool, which is called Atticus “is like Scrivener got together with Google Docs and Vellum and had a baby.” Tonight I actually had a call with him to talk through some of the features, and the team is already working on a lot of fun and useful things. Here’s a quick recap of what the tool should be capable of:
Furthermore,
Nor is there function for volumes and parts of a book beyond chapters. In the Atticus vs Scrivener battle, Atticus falls behind because it doesn’t have outlining/plotting functionality. It is coming, but not until after launch. I do have great hope for this software.
In respect to this, Atticus is designed to be more than just as conversion tool. You can easily write in the program, formatting as you go. To me, the interface is more eye appealing that that for Scrivener and certainly not as confusing or potentially distracting as Scrivener with all that program allows you to do.
Consequently,
Vellum is a great solution for Mac users but there’s never been anything comparable to it for PC users, who have to rely on buggy formatting with MS Word, a steeper learning curve with InDesign, or some functional but limited online book formatting tools like those from Reedsy or Draft2Digital.
Also,
Currently, Scrivener only has two main paperback formats commonly used in KDP Print and IngramSpark: 5.06” x 7.81” and 6” x 9”. For this tutorial, we selected the 6” x 9” paperback and duplicated it.
