Is the word arised a word in microsoft word?

I was doing my history homework, and typed 'arised' into Microsoft Word, to my surprise it claimed that it was not a word. I had used the (what I considered) word countless times in writing so this threw me.
Subsequently,
I googled 'arised', and although the first result wasn't the usual Google Dictionary, I did get several sites calming 'arised' was indeed a legitimate word, such as this site. I also looked in a physical dictionary and could not find the word, but other past tense alternatives, such as 'arose'.
