Chandigarh, India, issued a statement on Saturday saying that Shama, a 16-year-old student in the 12th grade of the local government's Model High School, had been chosen by Google as a graphic designer and would train in California for a year, not only during the training period, but also with an annual salary expected to reach 14.4 million rupees (about 1516,747 yuan) after completing the training.

It is understood that the first to disclose the news is the Indian Express, the report said that Sharma in December last year by applying to Google, Sharma's poster design let him be selected by Google. Google then sent a letter of offer to Sharma in June.

Google's offer is for Sharma to undergo a year of graphic design training, earning 400,000 rupees (about 40,000 yuan) a month, and after completing the training, his monthly salary will rise to 1.2 million rupees (about 120,000 yuan).

Mr Sharma said he had been interested in graphic design since he was 10 years old and had worked hard in the area for years, winning 7,000 rupees under Prime Minister Narebold Modi's Digital India project and 40,000 rupees designing posters for Bollywood.

As soon as the news broke, the Indian media burst into flames, but local media later denied it when they asked Google for proof.

Embarrassingly, however, the story of the teenagers from Chandgarh is that Google's well-paid job is not real after all. "At this time, we don't have any information about Sharma's candidacy," Google reported Tuesday on its India-reported website.
