A new benchmark for "hitting workers" in the workplace: Because retirement is too boring, the father of Python, the programming language, chose to return to the workplace.

On November 12, local time, Guido van Rossum, the 64-year-old father of Python, announced in his official announcement that he had decided to join Microsoft's development department because his retirement was so boring. As for what to do, he says there's too much to do to make Python more useful (not just on Windows), and Microsoft has a lot of open source resources to watch.

Microsoft has also confirmed guido van Rossum's addition. " We're excited to add him to the developer department. M icrosoft is committed to contributing to and growing with the Python community, and Guido's entry is a sign of that commitment. A Microsoft spokesman also said on Twitter.

The reference to Guido van Rossum's "miracle" dates back to the late 1980s. A t that time, he also developed distributed systems in the CWI department of the National Centre for Mathematics and Computer Science Research in the Netherlands. F rustrated with the programming language that was available at the time, he decided to develop a language that was both easy to use and powerful. It took him just three months to develop the Python prototype.

As for why is it named Python? Guido van Rossum is understood to have been inspired by the comedy group Monty Python, who also developed a giant logo to his liking.

By the mid-1990s, Guido van Rossum was active in the language at the National Institute of Standards and Technology and beyond, including as a director of Python Labs.

It was also in the 1990s that Python began to receive attention. In this way, the personal project that originally belonged to van Rossum became one of the most popular programming languages in the world.

It is worth mentioning that in the Python language community, Guido van Rossum once had the highest decision-making power in the community and was known as the Dictator of Lifelong Mercy (BDFL). G uido van Rossum resigned from Python's BDFL role in 2018 but remains active in the Python development community. He is also the head of the Python Software Foundation, which oversees the Python language.

In addition to his success in the Python language community, Guido van Rossum has worked for a number of companies throughout his career, including Zope and BeOpen. H e joined Google in 2005 and developed Mondrian, an internal code review tool for Google, and worked on App Engine. I t is understood that while working at Google, he spent half of his time maintaining Python's development. After leaving Google in 2012, he joined Dropbox, a personal cloud storage company.

Thanks to the development of machine learning, Python is now one of the most popular programming languages in the world and has continued to grow rapidly in recent years.

As for Microsoft, it hasn't shown much interest in Python over the years because of its "not invented here" attitude. But as Microsoft worked more with the open source community and the cloud, the company gradually changed its mind.
