Is the ytd report filter a common report filter?

Asked by Tinsley Acosta on Dec 03, 2021 FAQ

YTD is a common reporting filter more common than some others that exist in the pick list I wanted a dynamic report for end users and I can't - not all users are confident to change the filters (specially if there are additional and / or conditions being used)
In fact,
For instance, use Sales Date if trying to calculate YTD Sales instead of Last Updated Date, for instance. Filters – this filter field allows for any criteria or context to be specified when the calculation takes place. This could be to specify a specific region or filter out extraneous data.
Next, The Time Frame filter is set to “Current and Previous FYTD” – which results in data being filtered to the current FYTD and the same FYTD time frame in the previous fiscal year. A grouping on the date field with the granularity set to “Fiscal Year” neatly shows the FYTD comparison.
Similarly,
Report Filters are Not Dependent The Report Filters are not dependent, so items that you select in one Report Filter will not affect the items available in any other Report Filters. For example, in the pivot table shown below, East has been selected from the Region drop down.
Subsequently,
The View filter can include one or more filtering conditions that restrict the data displayed in the original report. Unlike the report filter, once the View filter is applied it does not retrieve data from the data source. Instead, a View filter restricts data based only on the report results already displayed on the screen.
