Is the nicolaitans doctrine the doctrine of baalam?

Asked by Harper Lamb on Dec 02, 2021 FAQ

Now there are many, many scholars of great height and stature and worth who say that the doctrine of the Nicolaitans is the doctrine of Baalam. Now the doctrine of Baalam mentioned here is very plain to understand [ Revelation 2:14] . Baalam wanted to curse Israel, but God wouldn’t let him [ Numbers 23:7-24:25] .
In addition,
The “Nicolaitans” and “Balaam” (probably symbolic names for a group and a leader) said instead—and this was their “doctrine”—“You have to go along to get along. No big deal, just eat the food in honor of the Roman god and nobody will bother you. You can then get on with your ‘witness for Jesus.’”
Thereof, When we read verses 14 and 15 of Chapter 2 of Revelation, we can see that the doctrine of the Nicolaitans is the same thing as the doctrine of Balaam, i.e. things sacrificed unto idols, and committing fornication. Jesus says that he hates the works of the Nicolaitans. Why does Jesus particularly say that he hates the works of the Nicolaitans?
Furthermore,
So the doctrine of Baalam is the doctrine of lust; it’s the doctrine of sensuality; it’s the doctrine of carnality. Now, G. Campbell Morgan, one of the greatest expositors of all time, says that the doctrine of the Nicolaitans is the doctrine of Baalam.
Consequently,
XXIX. BALAAM, THE NICOLAITANS, AND JEZEBEL. While Balaam and the Nicolaitans have their doctrines, Jezebel her teaching, and Satan his depths, the Lord Jesus has the tree of life and the hidden manna. According to Revelation 3:20, the Lord promises a feast to everyone who will open to Him as He knocks on the door.
