How to use a dependency map for dependency mapping?

Asked by Adele Stout on Dec 02, 2021 FAQ

Use a Dependency Map for Dependency Mapping. All program managers must track the dependencies that exist between the projects which make up their program. The easiest way I’ve found to do this is by using a Dependency Map. A Dependency Map allows us to visualise the critical cross-project dependencies throughout the duration of the program.
Moreover,
No matter the cause or type of dependency, they can all be managed through dependency mapping. Although each type of dependency requires a different type of mapping, the process of creating maps is similar and each type will have major long-term benefits. Start the process by identifying the relevant dependencies.
Besides, You can try Dynatrace for up to 15 days for free. Device42 is a specialized discovery and mapping tool, used for gathering and organizing data on your entire IT environment. It includes device discovery and asset management, and dedicated application mapping and management features.
Keeping this in consideration,
The easiest way I’ve found to do this is by using a Dependency Map. A Dependency Map allows us to visualise the critical cross-project dependencies throughout the duration of the program.
Also Know,
Get the teams to work through each piece of work and build a list of dependencies using the group names from the wall. If any team thinks of a dependency not captured on the wall, then feel free to add it. For each dependency, ask the teams to draw lines from the pieces of work to the dependency.
