How to compare in the folder compare-beyond compare?

Asked by Genevieve Francis on Dec 01, 2021 FAQ

For instance, a folder's timestamp does not affect the comparison. A folder is classified as "newer" if it contains newer files. Folders are compared by aggregating the comparisons of files within them.
Moreover,
Once the session is loaded, you can selectively recompare files by picking Actions > Compare Contents or by opening the files in a file session. Generally, these criteria are used to compare files, and not folders directly.
And, Beyond Compare is a tool that can be used to compare a wide range of files using simple commands. The result of this comparison can be filtered to include the information you want and discard the one you are not interested in. Beyond compare is however not able to compare PDF files directly since the results will not be meaningful to the user.
Likewise,
Session settings define how, overall, a Folder Compare session should compare folders when the session is loaded. Comparison criteria include file timestamps, sizes, attributes and contents. Once the session is loaded, you can selectively recompare files by picking Actions > Compare Contents or by opening the files in a file session.
Also Know,
Using the text-report only compares two files. The folder-report does not compare the file contents. First run this Command Prompt then use in application. You need to wrap the whole code in the double quotes.
