How does process checker check if a process is running?

Asked by Jillian Guevara on Dec 10, 2021 FAQ

Process Checker will periodically check the list of remote servers to see if the nominated process(es) are running. If any of the processes are not running, an e-mail will be sent with the details of the failing process/server. Process Checker will then pause for a user determined amount of time before re-checking.
In fact,
Bash check if process is running or not. Bash commands to check running process: pgrep command – Looks through the currently running bash processes on Linux and lists the process IDs (PID) on screen. ps command – Get information about the currently running Linux or Unix processes, including their process identification numbers (PIDs).
Just so, You can never check and see if a process is running, you can only check to see if a process was running at some point in the recent past. A process is an entity that is not controlled by your application and can exit at any moment in time.
In this manner,
The software needs to be compatible with all recent 32-bit and 64-bit editions of the Windows operating system. A feature to rate or scan processes needs to be integrated. The task manager needs to be the main program feature. The guide begins with short summaries of each program that made the test.
Furthermore,
Process Explorer is probably the most popular Task Manager alternative for Windows. It is a portable application that you can run from any location. Recently support for Virustotal scans has been added to the program. Options to check individual processes or all running processes are available.
