Can you connect to the report server on localhost?

Asked by Aniya Berger on Dec 07, 2021 FAQ

Could not connect to the report server http://localhost:8080/ReportServer. Verify that the TargetServerURL is valid and that you have the correct permissions to connect to the report server. Could not connect to the report server http://localhost:8080/ReportServer.
In addition,
Make sure you have access configured to the URL http://localhost/reports using the SQL Reporting Services Configuration. To do this: Open Reporting Services Configuration Manager--> then connect to the report server instance--> then click on Report Manager URL.
Also Know, While SSRS Report Deploy, if you are facing the error "Could not connect to the report server http://localhost/ReportServer" then you need to check "Report Server Status" in "Reporting Services Configuration Manager". Then "Reporting Services Configuration Manager" Window will open. Click on "Connect" button.
In respect to this,
Verify that the TargetServerURL is valid and that you have the correct permissions to connect to the report server. If anybody know how to overcome this error then please let me know. As Sunil posted, this issue occurs when a user does not have permission to perform the action.
And,
If you are getting the following error while trying to access or deploy a SQL Services Reporting Services (SSRS) report server on your localhost: The Permissions granted to user 'domain\username' are insufficient for performing this operation. (rsAccessDenied).
