Can you change a non-personal view to a personal view?

Asked by Selene Richardson on Dec 14, 2021 FAQ

If you choose to switch a non-personal view to a personal view, then it is worth pointing out that the "original" view will not remain after converting to a personal view. As a best practice tip, duplicate any views you wish to keep before converting them to a personal view.
In fact,
When you access the list and select to create a new view, then select standard view, it takes you to the "Create View" page. There is a section called Audience, that gives you the option to create a Personal or Public view. Under the Personal view is says: Personal Views are intended for your use only.
Also Know, Click View. In the Current View group, click Change View, and then click Manage Views. Click New. In the Name of new view box, type a name for the view. In the Type of view box, select a view type. To change where the view is available, select an option under Can be used on, and then click OK.
And,
There are many reasons why you may put off critical personal changes. Here is a sampling: Sometimes you can trust your feelings. You may resist changes that don’t feel right. However, some emotions come from distorted thinking and your emotions drive you to avoid the very changes that you are likely to benefit the most from making.
Consequently,
You can do so at any point by modifying the view and clicking Make this the default view check box. What that means is that when users click on a document library or a list, the first view that will be displayed is that new default one you just created.
