It’s a good idea to find out what kind of vision coverage you have before getting vision care. Medicare Part A is hospital insurance. Medicare Part A covers vision care only when the vision condition is considered a medical problem — as in a medical emergency or traumatic injury when the beneficiary must be admitted to the hospital.
Additionally, SCAN offers a routine vision care benefit through EyeMed® Vision Care for all plans. Individual plans vary, but in general, the routine vision benefit includes: Eye exams. One exam every 12 months. Coverage for eyewear. Every 24 months. Check your Evidence of Coverage to see exactly what your plan includes.
