WordPress adds categories

In this chapter, we'll look at how to add categories to WordPress. /b10> Categories are used to indicate sections and group-related posts on your site. /b11> It divides the group content into different parts. /b12> This is a very convenient way to organize a position.

To access the category section, follow the steps mentioned -

Step (1) - Click posts in WordPress to → Categories option.

Step (2) - Displays the Categories page, as shown in the following screenshot.

The following is more information about the fields of the category.

• Name - Enter a unique name for the category.

• Slug - Select the words used to describe your message. /b10> It is specified in the tag URL.

• Parent - By selecting the parent category from the drop-down list, you can set a specific category to a child category or leave it as none.

• Description - Add a brief description of your category. /b10> It is optional.

Step (3) - After filling in all the information about the category, click the Add New Category button.

Step (4) - When you click Add New Category, the newly created category appears on the right side of the page, as shown on the following screen.
