WordPress adds a page

In this chapter, we'll look at how to add add pages to WordPress. A dding a page is similar to adding a post in WordPress. A page is static and usually does not change the information it displays.

Here are the easy steps to add a page to WordPress.

Step (1) - Click → Page to add New, as shown in the screenshot below.

Step (2) - You'll get the editor page as shown in the screenshot below. T he editor page has two tabs, Visual and Text. Y ou can insert text either of them. Here, we'll look at how to insert text into the Visual format.

The following is the details of the fields on the editor page of Add a new page.

Title

It is used to write the title of the article, which appears later on the page.

A fixed link shows the potential URL of the page below the title. The URL is generated based on a given title.

What you see is an editor of what you get

It's a WYSE you need editor, similar to a word processor interface where you can edit the content of an article.

Here are the options for the You Get What You Get Editor -

• Bold Button - Used to make your font bold.

• Italic - for italic fonts.

• Word Strike - Tapping content.

• Bullet List - Add bullets to the content.

• Number List - Add numbers to the content list.

• Blockquote - Reference text.

• Horizontal Line - Create horizontal lines between sentences.

• Left Align - Set the content on the left side of the page.

• Right Align - Set the content to the right of the page.

• Justify - Prove the content of the page.

• Add Link - a link to add to your content. When you click this button, the following page is displayed.

The following are the fields that appear in the insert/edit link.

• URL - Enter the URL you want to associate with.

• Link text - Insert the text you want to enter in the link.

• Open link in a new window/tab - Open a link page in a new tab or window. Check the box as needed.

• Or link to existing account - Link to an existing content page by selecting a page from a given list. When you click on an existing page, you get a link created in the URL section, as shown in the following screenshot.

• Remove Link - Remove specific links added to text or content.

• Read more tag - Add the Read More tag to your web page.

• Toolbar toggle - Click this button to get another list of toolbars, as shown in the following image.

• Paragraph - Select the title required for the text from the drop-down list.

• Underline - Emphasize sentences.

• Justify - Justify your content.

• Text Color - Sets the color of a word or sentence.

• Paste as Text - Paste text.

• Clear Formatting - Delete the selection.

• Special character - Insert the special characters you need in your content.

• Increase Indent - Increase the indentation of pages.

• Decreas Indent - Reduces the indentation of web pages.

• Undo - Undo - Undo the most recent edit command.

• Redo - Instead of undoing, restore the most recent edit command.

The Page Properties module allows you to select a parent for a specific page. You can also set the order of the pages.

• Parent - allows you to select a parent page.

• Order - Set the order of the pages.
