SQL lower() letter case conversion function that turns letters into lowercase - returns a string that returns lowercase by changing all characters to lowercase based on the current character set map.
Returns all characters that are changed to lesscase based on the current character set map, i.e. a string that returns a smaller case.
SQL> SELECT LOWER('W3CSCHOOL');
+---------------------------------------------------------+
| LOWER('W3CSCHOOL') |
+---------------------------------------------------------+
| w3cschool |
+---------------------------------------------------------+
1 row in set (0.00 sec)
You can also refer to the LCASE() function, which converts the value of a field to a small case.
