In the latest issue of TIOBE's programming language rankings, C-languages rose the most, reaching 6.66 percent, and Ruby managed to push Perl back into the top 10.

The top 20 programming languages are as follows:

Objective-C and Perl are currently the biggest decliners in the top 20, both down more than three places.
Objective-C's decline was largely due to Swift's emergence, which led to TheObjective-C being abandoned by Apple. In addition, app development is moving to platform-independent languages and frameworks, and Swift is only available for Apple systems, and the current environment is not ideal.
As for Perl, it remained one of the most important scripting languages until 2005. I n 2008, TIOBE predicted that Perl would die, but it was rejected by many of Perl's supporters. Stevan Little gave a speech in 2013 entitled "Perl is not dead, it's just walking into a dead end", in which he mentioned that once a software engineer gave up using the Perl language, he would not choose to use it again.

TIOBE says the perl language has been stagnating and is the main reason developers are looking for alternatives such as Python and Ruby. To this day, the Perl community still doesn't have a clear future, so it's going downhill, and it's just struggling.
