Internet Explorer 11
For Windows 8.1: Internet Explorer 11 was released on October 17, 2013.
For Windows 7: Internet Explorer 11 was released on November 7, 2013.
New features:

Features removed by IE 11:
- document.all is discarded - code that checks for its presence will not detect it, but the code that actually uses it will continue to work.
- attachEvent
- Quick Labels (CTRL-Q)
- The Work Offline command is removed from the File menu
- Drag and drop selected content from IE to other programs such as Word
- Use the large icon to command the button
- The ability to view all cookies at once in Developer Tools
IE 11 is fast and standard compatible. However, its main drawback is that it does not run on operating system versions prior to Windows 7 and does not provide synchronization for the system!
Internet Explorer 10
Internet Explorer 10 was released on September 4, 2012 and is the default browser in Windows 8.
In February 2013, Internet Explorer 10 made downloads available for all Windows 7 SP1s.
New features:
- 20% faster than IE9
- The update supports HTML5 - now supports async properties, AppCache APIs, channel messages, drag-and-drop APIs, history, parsing, sandboxes, spell checking, video, Web Workers, and WebSockets in tags.
- Updates support CSS3 - Conversions, animations, fonts, gradients, transition effects, text shadows, and style sheet removal limits are now supported.
- Update supports DOM - now supports advanced hit testing APIs, media query listening, XMLHttpRequest enhancements, and pointer gesture events.
- Update support for SVG - SVG and filters are now supported.
- The update supports the index database API
- Integrated spell checking and auto-correction
- Adobe Flash Integration - Includes a built-in Adobe Flash Player.
- Add features for touch screen users - full-screen touch browser.
- Flip Forward - Quickly move to the next page of the site with a swipe gesture on the touchscreen device.
- New user agent string - Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; M SIE 10.0; W indows NT 6.2; [ platform token] T rident/6.0; Touch)
IE 10 no longer supports the following:
- XML Data Island
- VML - Vector Markup Language.
- HTC - The behavior of elements and HTML components (Element behaviors and HTML components).
- DX Filter - DirectX-based filter/transition effect.
- Conditional Comments - Conditional statements that are interpreted by IE in HTML source code, such as: !-- . Used to provide and hide code to IE.
- Content Advisor - taken over by Windows Parental Controls.
Internet Explorer 9
Internet Explorer 9 was released in March 2011.
New features:
- Updated interface - allows you to control and focus on site viewing.
- Fast speed - IE9 is much faster than previous IE versions. H ardware-accelerated text, video, and graphics improve the performance of your website as if your program were already installed on your computer. At the same time, IE9 uses video cards to make everything faster.
- Lock your site to the taskbar for Windows 7 - Microsoft has partnerships with a number of sites, including Facebook, Twitter, and Pandora, and you can see the taskbar that supports jump lists.
- Unified address bar - A unified address bar for navigating a website or starting a search.
- Redesigned new tabs - gives you quick access to sites you visit frequently. You can also reopen the closed tab, or your last browsing session, or start a new non-private browsing session.
- Improved add-on management - A new feature called Add-on Performance Advisor lets you know what's causing your browser to slow down and allows you to delete it
- Better privacy - Tracking protection limits the information that websites follow you.
- Better support for HTML5/CSS3 - IE9 also supports SVG and Canvas graphics.
- New Download Manager - Allows you to view files downloaded through your browser and be notified if the files are malicious or contain viruses. It also allows you to pause the download and resume it later.
- Enhanced Label Management - You can move labels between different windows by dragging labels from one window to another. When you place a label in a new window, it does not need to reload the page.

- Accelerator - Provides quick access to network services. U sers can find and send information from the web. For example, on a restaurant site, users can get maps, news and information about the restaurant, blog about it, or share it on Sina Weibo by clicking on the page.
- Site subscriptions - RSS-like features that allow users to subscribe directly to content within a web page.
- Compatibility View - Displays a web page in IE7.
- Search for suggestions - Provide suggested content based on your input.
- Features of the new label - Reopens the label that was accidentally closed and groups the related labels by color code.
- Tag Separation - Prevents the entire browser from being closed due to an incorrect website, and only the wrong tabs are closed.
- Non-private browsing - No data (e.g. passwords, cookies, browsing history, etc.) is stored when browsing the web.
- Smart Screen Filter - Protects you from installing malware that exposes your data, privacy, and identity, and can damage your computer and valuable data.
IE 8 fully supports CSS 2.1. In addition, it corrects "many cross-browser insistencys, such as get/set/removeAttribute, default attributes, Attribute object, and the hashtags".
Internet Explorer 7
Internet Explorer 7.0 was released in November 2006. IE7 is the standard browser in Windows XP with Service Pack 2.
Internet Explorer 7 provides improved navigation, web search through toolbars, advanced printing, instant search, and RSS executives.
New features:
- Advanced Printing - Internet Explorer 7 automatically scales the page you want to print so that the entire page is on the printed page. Print options also include adjustable margins, customizable page layouts, removable headers and footers, and the option to print only selected text.
- Instant Search Box - Web searches using your favorite search provider can now be added to the toolbar search box, eliminating the clutter of multiple stand-alone toolbars at the same time. You can easily select a provider from a drop-down list or add more providers.
- Favorites Center - Quick and easy access to favorites, tab groups, browsing history, and RSS feed subscriptions. Favorites centers can be expanded as needed and can be positioned for easy access.
- RSS Lift - Internet Explorer 7 automatically detects the RSS lift on the site and lights up the icons on the toolbar. Y ou can click the icon to preview and subscribe to any RSS feed, and you'll be automatically notified when your content is updated. You can read RSS factoes directly in your browser, browse important events, and filter views using search terms or specific site categories.
- Tabbed browsing - View multiple sites in a single browser window. The tab at the top of the browser box makes it easy to switch from one site to another.
- Quick tabs - By displaying all thumbnails in a single window, you can easily select and position between open tabs.
- Tab Groups - Tabs can be grouped and saved by logical category so that you can open multiple tabs with a single click of the mouse. Tab groups can be easily set up as homegroups so that you can open the entire tab group each time you start Internet Explorer.
- Page Zoom - Zoom in on a single page, including text and pictures, so you can focus on specific content or make it more visible to visually impaired people.
Internet Explorer 6
Internet Explorer 6.0 is the standard browser in Windows XP. Released August 2001.
Based on Windows 2000, Windows XP is the successor to Windows 98, Millennium, and Windows 2000.
Internet Explorer 5
Internet Explorer 5 is the first mainstream browser to support XML.
Version 5.5 (released in July 2000) for Windows 95, 98, NT 4.0, and Windows 2000. Supports XML/XSL, CSS, Print (Print Preview), and HTC behavior.
Version 5.01 (released in November 1999) is primarily a bug that corrects 5.0.
Version 5.0 (released in March 1999) is the first mainstream browser to support XML.
Older version of Internet Explorer
Most users are not using older versions of Internet Explorer. W eb developers ignore them. And their functionality is out of date.
IE 4.0 (released in 1997). This version supports CSS and DOM very well, but does not support XML.
IE 3.0 (released in 1996) has a usage rate of less than 0.1%.
IE 2.0 (released in 1995). This version is too old for anyone to use it anymore.
IE 1.0 (released in 1995). Does anyone remember it?
Internet Explorer for Macintosh
Version 5.1.7 was the last Internet Explorer for Mac OS 8 and 9, released in July 2003.
Version 5.2.3 was the last Internet Explorer for Mac OS X, released in June 2003.
Note: version 5.2.3 requires special features in Mac OS X. Users of Mac OS 8 and 9 must download version 5.1.7.
Microsoft stopped technical support for Internet Explorer for Macs on December 31, 2005.
Mac users recommend using other browsers, such as Apple's Safari browser.
