If you're an experienced Node developer, you'll definitely
semver
- however, here's where your dependency management system might only have rough guidance and not a fixed version number. D
ue to its hard reliance on Node and Chromium, Electron is in a slightly more complex position and does not follow semver.
Therefore, you should always refer to a specific version of Electron.
Version numbers use references to the following rules:
0.37.0
to
1.0.0
you will need to upgrade your application.
0.37.0
1.0.0
your application will still function correctly, but you may need to address some minor changes.
0.37.0
1.0.0
your application is still functioning as before.
If you
electron
electron-prebuilt
we recommend that you set a fixed version number (such as 1.1.0 instead of .1.1.0) to ensure that all Electron upgrades are manually performed by you (the developer).
