At the end of 2014, RedHat launched the latest enterprise linux system, RHEL 7, when major media at home and abroad gave a lot of close-ups, the industry also gave great expectations. H owever, to this day, the market share of THEL 7 system has been kept warm, so some people began to worry about the future of the RHEL 7 system, and even some people have come up with a variety of arguments to sing down linux system, feel that open source vendors have passed the career high point, to give in to Windows system in the field of servers. T hese words do not really need to refute, any product will have its fans and black powder, time will prove everything to everyone. We're just going to just talk about this RHEL 7 system now.

Before the official chat, I hope that readers have a basic understanding of Linux system features and operations, know that Linux systems in the field of servers occupy a significant market share, recognize the RedHat manufacturer's important impact on Linux systems and the entire open source industry, and know that CentOS systems are actually derivatives of THEL systems. "Redeploying the production environment is not about installing the operating system, it's not about installing the software casually and you can pat people away, but also consider the risks of upgrading."

Who will be responsible for the future production environment?

Is the old software still compatible with the new system?

Is there a bug in the new system or software?

What is security and what does an audit do?

Can the previously purchased third-party technical support have the appropriate capabilities?

Objectively speaking, the change of the RHEL 7 system is too great, and most importantly, it uses systemd as the initialization process. A s a result, almost all previous operations automation scripts need to be modified. S o, do you want to upgrade to RHEL 7? O f course, this is not to say that the production environment in the server room is never updated, when the work requirements exceed the capabilities of the current version, it must be upgraded. F or example, the rsyslogd logging service is 5.8 in the RHEL 6 system, and the latest version is now 8.1. There are three large major version numbers between the two versions, and there is a big gap in functionality, do you think you'll always use the old version?

Back in early 2014, when fedora systems first adopted the system initialization process, I asserted that the RHEL 7 system would also use systemstemd, so I immediately updated my training course. T his is also the envy of users who are still learning the init parameters at other training institutions. Therefore, whether learning Linux or programming languages, you should choose the current stable and up-to-date version as the learning environment.

" We've been very positive about the impact of Linux systems on the operations industry and even on the world. All we have to do is to trust my judgment on the future development of the operations industry, and then let go to learn it.
